If you're interviewing at one of the Big Four companies - or several at once - you'll have to reveal a lot about yourself. The other day, Sunyat Bakenov, a Soviet and Kazakh journalist and writer, gave an interview to the editors of “Adebietportals"O how objectively the image of his grandfather Torsan Tlemisula was described in the novel by the Kazakh writer Gabit Musrepov “Ulpan is her name.”

— Please tell us about yourself.

— I am 88 years old, I retired in 1991 as an assistant to the Kazakh poet Olzhas Suleimenov. He worked as a journalist in Soviet sports, the newspapers “Moskovskaya Gazeta”, “Soviet Patriot”.

He received his primary education in an aul where there was only a Kazakh school. But the Russian school was far away. Therefore, I graduated from 7 classes in the village, and with a gold medal.

Sunyat Bakenov in his youth

I am a philologist by training; I studied in the Kazakh department for a couple of years.

And my family and I moved to Kazakhstan from Russia during the Great Patriotic War. Now I live in Almaty.

Sunyat Bakenov

— How well are you familiar with the image of Torsan Tilemisula in Gabit Musrepov’s novel “Ulpan is her name”? Is the image of Torsan bai in the above-mentioned novel by G. Musrepov true? Are there any points with which you disagree?

— I am familiar enough with the image of Torsan bai to talk about how objectively Gabit Musrepov described him in the novel.

In reality, Torsan was a great man. I have never seen the name “Torsan” among the Kazakhs anywhere. Although now such a name occurs, albeit rarely. For example, my grandson in Almaty and my nephew’s grandson in Ishim (Russia) have this name.

He even has poems he composed.

The Sibans did not like Torsan. Sibans, Uaks and Kereys are the clans of the Middle Zhuz. According to legend, one woman from the Siban clan was left alive with a boy, who began to be called Syy bala, which translated from the Kazakh language means “gift boy”, which is where the name of the Siban clan came from.

Tlemis, Torsan's father was a translator for the steppe governor-general. And Sapak is the father of Tlemis, my great-great-grandfather was a shepherd of pigs and horses. He herded and sold pigs, because there was a high demand for them among the Russian population.

At that time, a new district was opened, now in the Kostanay region, and the Genghisids needed a Sultan. Kumanbai became the first sultan, Yesieniei bai became the second. How was it?

Chingiz Valikhanov applied to become the sultan while being a Chingizid. When Ch. Valikhanov put forward his candidacy to become the Sultan, Russia was already tired of his endless attacks against Russia. Yesieniei told him more than once that even Cossack detachments could destroy him, not like Russia, and that he would achieve nothing with such behavior.

The governor-general of the district town of Akmola region called his translator Tlemis, father Torsan, and said that it was necessary to make sure that Chingiz Valikhanov was not elected sultan. Instead, it was necessary to find an honest and decent person with an impeccable reputation. And such a person was found. It turned out to be Yesieniei Bai, unsullied and known for his struggle for peace in the area.

Thus, Yesieniei from the Kerei family became a major bei and sultan. After Yesieniei’s death, enormous wealth went to his young wife Ulpan from the Kipchak clan, with whom he lived for only 8-9 years.

Ulpan treated Tlemis like a father and asked for help finding an intelligent manager. It was difficult for her to cope with relatives who were trying to get their hands on Yesieniei’s wealth.

Without thinking twice, Tlemis proposed the candidacy of his 19-year-old son Torsan, brilliantly educated and literate (he studied at a Russian school and knew the Russian language well). The other two sons were at work.

So, Torsan became the manager. Ulpan, who was 26 years old at that time, liked him. Moreover, she was in love with him. But he was nimble and slowly began to take the property for himself. The Sibans could not help but notice this and declared to Ulpan their intention to kill Torsan. They even prepared 100 head of cattle, which was considered a ransom for the death of a person. But Ulpan said: “First kill me and only then Torsan, because he will be my son-in-law, I will marry him to my 12-year-old daughter Bizhiken.” And the Sibans did not touch Torsan. Later, after the marriage, Bizhiken gave birth to a daughter to Torsan, but both subsequently died.

After this, Ulpan found a way out of the situation by marrying Torsan to her niece Zhauka, who was loved by all the employees for her good character. Over the course of 7-8 years, she gave birth to five boys and one girl: Shokan, Sheri, Arap, Baken, Kazi, Aisha, who was her favorite daughter and later died.

Torsan was also known for the construction of significant institutions. On his native land, in Zhanazhol, Torsan built two schools and a mosque, and opened another school in Fedorovka not far from the Kurgan region.

In the archives of the city of Omsk there is a document that says that two generals came and awarded Torsan an overcoat and a medal for opening the first Russian-Kazakh school in the village of Presnogorkovka in the north of what is now Kazakhstan.

Sabit Mukanov and Gabit Musrepov studied at that school. G. Musrepov also mentioned in his autobiographical essay about one Russian language teacher who believed in him and contributed to the successful completion of school. The fact is that he wrote an essay on the Russian language with continuous errors. Despite this, the teacher stood up for young Gabit and said that he would still become a great writer.

And in 1920, Torsan Tlemisuly died.

— Please tell us about the image of Bizhiken in the novel “Ulpan is her name”, how does it correspond to reality?

- Her real name was Bibisaure. Nobody called her a girl because she dressed like a boy. Nobody asked for Bizhiken; she was a fighting girl. The image is quite convincing.

Yesieniei also had two sons; they apparently died from Torsan’s curse because Yesieniei ordered his father Tliemis to be flogged. Although, this was fair according to the law of the steppe.

— What was the fate of the descendants of Torsan Bai during the repression of 1930-1937?

— As mentioned above, Torsan had five sons. Son Arap stood out among his brothers. He was very modest, weak, but knew literature and Arabic well, played the dombra and kobyz well, and told fairy tales and poems to children.

Torsan told Arap more than once: “You will die of hunger if another government comes.” At that time, Soviet power was already looming.

Our property was confiscated, and we were exiled to Siberia, to the Kemerovo region. They left the Arab because they wanted him to survive. But it turned out the other way around. The Torsan family, who left their native lands, survived, but Arap died of hunger in 1932. Shokan's eldest son was hacked to death by the bandits of commander Kovalev. Only Sheri, Baken and Kazi remained.

— A little history about your uncle Kazi and his activities in Alash-Orda. Which of the Alashorda activists did Kazi, son of Torsan bai, keep in touch with while being a member of the Akmola regional committee of Alash-Orda?

— Mukhtar Auezov also said that as long as he lived, he did not see such beautiful Kazakhs as Kazi Torsanov. He was the chief of police - the Minister of Internal Affairs in the Provisional Government. Therefore, his connection with the leaders of the Alashorda movement, Akhmet Baitursynov and Alikhan Bukeikhanov, is obvious.

He also kept in touch with the Kazakh writer Magzhan Zhumabaev. And my father Baken and M. Zhumabaev were relatives to each other, since their wives were sisters.

Kazi was once put in prison together with M. Zhumabaev. And the magazines of that time wrote about this with great sorrow. There were a lot of rallies. They wanted to shoot Magzhan Zhumabaev and Kazi Torsanov.

Mukhtar Auezov came with a petition for the prisoners to be released, however, nothing worked. But Kolchak’s revolution broke out and all the political repressors were released. Later, Kazi dealt with the enemies who put him in prison.

In the novel “The Thorny Path,” Saken Seifullin wrote that a local policeman shot Kazi while he was conducting training with horsemen. But that was not the case. In fact, he died a natural death.

— What was the view of the writers Gabit Musrepov and Sabit Mukanov towards the ideas of the Alashorda people?

Sabit Mukanov and Gabit Musrepov were against the idea of Alash-Orda. If they were in favor, they would have been shot. Although Sabit Mukanov at one time even lived with Kazi as a good friend, this fact was carefully hidden.

— A little about your family. Please tell us more about your father Baken. It is known that Torsan's son Baken was engaged in trade. In the novel “School of Life” he is described by the author as follows: “he received cooperative goods from the Kolchak government using forged powers of attorney and immediately sold them to the side.” From Baken - Kulyamai, Bilal, Eslambek, Suniyat. From Bilyal - Arystanbek, From Arystanbek - Torsan. From Eslambek - Magauia. From Suniyat - Anuar. From Anuar - Askar, Arkady.

— Baken was not a merchant. He, for the most part, led an idle life.

Aktokty, sung by Akan Seri, was the first wife of Baken's father. Her real name is Umsun. And they had a daughter, Kulyamai, my beloved sister. Thus, Baken was mentioned in two Akan Seri plays.

Portrait of Baken

After the death of his first wife, his father married a second time. The story of the second marriage is interesting in its own way. Then, in the Kokchetav region there lived one girl, so beautiful and serious. Friends of Baken's father gathered and stole the girl. Her father was disappointed when he saw her during the day and even wanted to return her to her parents. She was small, red-haired with blue eyes. But, after much persuasion from his friends, and in addition, it was too late, he had to marry her.

Thus, sister Kamash, brothers Bilal, Eslambek and I, Sunyat, were born.

There is already an introduction, it says who a citizen is, that we are citizens, etc. Then it says that Russia, like other countries, has an anthem, a coat of arms and a flag (I even came up with a poem about the flag) And lastly, I also wrote about the duties of a citizen...

Help me think of something else to write!! And tell us about this in more detail, but there is no need to describe it too much.
I will be very grateful for your help!!)

Practical Thinking The difference between theoretical and practical thinking is that they are related to practice in different ways: not that

one of them has a connection with practice, and the other does not, but the fact is that the nature of this connection is different. The work of practical thinking is mainly aimed at solving specific specific problems: organizing the work of a given plant, developing and implementing a battle plan, etc., while the work of theoretical thinking is mainly aimed at finding general patterns: principles of production organization, tactical and strategic patterns. The work of the practical mind is directly woven into practical activity and is subject to the continuous test of practice, while the work of the theoretical mind is usually subject to practical test only in its final results... The theoretical mind is responsible to practice only for the final result of its work, while the practical mind is responsible in the very process of mental activity. A theoretical scientist can put forward various kinds of working hypotheses, sometimes test them for a very long period of time, discard those that do not justify themselves, replace them with others, etc. A practitioner’s ability to use hypotheses is incomparably more limited, since these hypotheses must be tested not in special experiments, but in life itself, and - what is especially important - a practical worker does not always have time for such checks. The harsh conditions of time are one of the most characteristic features of the work of the practical mind. What has been said is already enough to cast doubt on one very widespread belief, namely the belief that the highest demands on the mind are made by theoretical activities: science, philosophy, art. Kant once argued that genius is possible only in art. Hegel saw the pursuit of philosophy as the highest level of activity of the mind. Psychologists of the early 20th century. The work of a scientist was usually considered the highest manifestation of mental activity. In all these cases, the theoretical mind was regarded as the highest possible form of manifestation of intelligence. The practical mind, even at its highest levels, is the mind of a politician, statesman, a commander - was regarded from this point of view as a more elementary, easier, seemingly less qualified form of intellectual activity. Questions and tasks: 1) What differences between theoretical and practical thinking does B. M. Teplov highlight? 2) What types of activities are most consistent with the practical type of thinking? 3) Continue the list of activities mentioned in the fragment. On what basis do you include this or that type of activity in this list? 4) Do you agree with the scientist in assessing the importance of practical thinking? What could you argue about? What arguments can you give to support your point of view?

Part C - ECONOMY Market economy For the emergence of market relations, the presence or absence of private property rights to

economic resources. At various epochs of history, small-scale farms created best conditions to form a market system with its classic signs of competition, balance of supply and demand, free pricing. The destruction of the traditions of private property destroys the market system itself... The market is universal system use of limited resources. Limited resources do not allow the production of all types of consumer goods that people need. Minerals, capital, knowledge and information about production technologies are limited. The resources of the earth are also limited. And not only in the sense of the boundaries of the earth’s land or the geographically designated territories of individual states. The land is inherently limited in the sense that each section of it at the same time can be used either in the agricultural sector, or in the mining industry, or for construction. The role of the market as a regulator economic relations assessed differently. Along with those who believe the market system is the most efficient economic model, there are many who see serious shortcomings in this system. Critics of the market, in particular, draw attention to the fact that there are areas of life where market regulation is inappropriate and does not achieve the desired goals (public transport, defense, etc.). According to the book "Economic Theory" Ed. V.D. Kamaeva. M., 2003. pp. 47, 50 Assignment: C1. Make a plan for the text. To do this, highlight the main semantic fragments of the text and title each of them. C2. What three characteristics of a market system are indicated in the text? C3. How do the authors see the limitations of such a resource as land? (Indicate three manifestations). C4. List four types of resources that are limited in the text. What type of resource is not mentioned? Using a specific example, show the limitations of this type of resource. C5. From your history course you know that in Russia after the revolution of 1917, industry was nationalized. This marked the beginning of the liquidation market economy in the country. Give the position of the text in which this dependence is expressed. Based on historical and social science knowledge, indicate one of the features of the economic system that established itself in the country in the 20-30s of the twentieth century. C6. The text indicates that many researchers see in market system serious shortcomings. Do you agree with this market assessment? Based on the text and social science knowledge, give two arguments (in addition to those given in the text) in defense of your position.

THANK YOU so much for the very useful information in the article. Everything is presented very clearly. It feels like a lot of work has been done to analyze the operation of the eBay store

    • Thank you and other regular readers of my blog. Without you, I would not be motivated enough to dedicate much time to maintaining this site. My brain is structured this way: I like to dig deep, systematize scattered data, try things that no one has done before or looked at from this angle. It’s a pity that our compatriots have no time for shopping on eBay because of the crisis in Russia. They buy from Aliexpress from China, since goods there are much cheaper (often at the expense of quality). But online auctions eBay, Amazon, ETSY will easily give the Chinese a head start in the range of branded items, vintage items, handmade items and various ethnic goods.

What is valuable in your articles is your personal attitude and analysis of the topic. Don't give up this blog, I come here often. There should be a lot of us like that. Email me I recently received an email with an offer that they would teach me how to trade on Amazon and eBay. And I remembered your detailed articles about these trades. area I re-read everything again and concluded that the courses are a scam. I haven't bought anything on eBay yet. I am not from Russia, but from Kazakhstan (Almaty). But we also don’t need any extra expenses yet. I wish you good luck and stay safe in Asia.

  • It’s also nice that eBay’s attempts to Russify the interface for users from Russia and the CIS countries have begun to bear fruit. After all, the overwhelming majority of citizens of the countries of the former USSR do not have strong knowledge of foreign languages. No more than 5% of the population speak English. There are more among young people. Therefore, at least the interface is in Russian - this is a big help for online shopping on this trading platform. eBay did not follow the path of its Chinese counterpart Aliexpress, where a machine (very clumsy and incomprehensible, sometimes causing laughter) translation of product descriptions is performed. I hope that at a more advanced stage of development of artificial intelligence, high-quality machine translation from any language to any in a matter of seconds will become a reality. So far we have this (the profile of one of the sellers on eBay with a Russian interface, but an English description):
